Hurricane Ike

Well we just spent this weekend bracing for and riding out Hurricane Ike in our home. As we suffered minimal damage and are one of the lucky streets to NOT have lost power, we have many friends and family without power and anywhere from minimal to severe damage to their homes and property.
It's quite a sad site in the Galveston Island Area as many historical buildings have either taken on much water or been completely demolished and are no longer standing, not to mention the homes that have been lost as a result of the high water winds and rains.
Our prayers and thoughts go out to those people in many ways.
Here is a video from our back porch during the storm, remember what you are seeing in our back yard is minimal damage compared to what some suffered:

Not a baby anymore!

Well my baby baby started preschool today or as she calls it "big class". She was so cute this morning in her new first day of school outfit she picked out along with the shoes, her backpack and her lunchbox. I am so proud of her, but part of me is sad to see her growing up so fast. It'll be interesting to see what "things" she tells her new class, she's good about remembering EVERYTHING...good and bad. LOL! let's just hope she doesn't list off the "potty words" mommy says like she does to me and my family all the time.

Anyhow here is a picture of our big girl before she headed out to granny's house to go to "big class".

Our Little Cheerleader

This football season Juliana is doing drill team and loving it. Well Bella is also loving it and does the drill dance right along with her at practice, it's hilarious!

The picture below is a picture of her in a belated birthday present...her cheerleader/drill team uniform. She wore it to school this day and wouldn't take it off.

ENJOY!

Four Eyes

Well my big baby is now wearing glasses. 4th grade and 9 years old and she has to wear glasses to read the chalkboard and things far away. I figured since I am blind as a bat it would happen eventually, but she looks so grown up with her glasses on. BOOHOO! She's loving the glasses however and wants to clean them constantly. LOL!

So now I can call her 4 eyes. :-)

Take a look see:
