Bella's First Movie

Today Bella went to the movie theater to see a movie for the first time. We went to see Horton Hears A Who and she had a great time. She sat through the whole thing and didn't move and ate her popcorn, drank her soda and then ate some of her M&M's, I was very proud of her.

This first photo is of Bella before we headed to the theater. The rest are some photos at the theater and after the movie, enjoy!

This next one is of Bella outside the theater with her big sister in front of the Horton Movie poster.

Here is Bella in her seat with her HUGE bag of popcorn.

We just happened to run into Bella's friend Callie from school at the movie so they sat next to each other.

Here are all the girls after the movie, Delanie, Desiree, Bella and Juliana. A good time was had by all.

Happy Easter from our Family to yours!

The season of Easter

Well here it is Easter 2008. This means we are moving into Spring and then Summer and then we start all over with Christmas again.

Where does the time go these days?

So this is the week before Easter, probably the most holiest of weeks for the religious community. Many people will be celebrating their respect for the respective religion/belief in many different ways. Some go to church and pray every day while others stay home and pray. I think whatever way you choose is a good way to respect what Jesus did for us all.

Once all the religious ceremonies are over, families will then celebrate in the kid like manner with which their own children will celebrate. Hunting for eggs, coloring eggs, eating too much chocolate and other candy and relishing over all the goodies the Easter Bunny has left in their baskets overnight. Then they will all eat a big Easter meal and spend time with the family.

Our family partakes in an egg knocking contest. We take the hard boiled eggs that we have so diligently colored and knock the pointy ends on another person's egg till someones egg cracks. We continue this process untill we are down to one person with both ends of their egg not cracked. The following is a link about the contest that is done in Marksville Louisiana where our family is from: Remember this article: http://www.louisianafolklife.org/LT/Articles_Essays/creole_art_egg_knocking.html

We of course still take part in the Easter bunny and candy and goodies and egg huts and a big meal but most of all take part in enjoying the company of our family.

Happy Easter everyone!

Finally Feeling in Control

Okay so I've finished Week 5, Day 3 of the Couch 2 5k running program 2 nights in a row and last night I added a 5 minute run at the end so I technically ran 25 minutes with a 3 minute walk in between 20 and the last 5.

I am so pumped up, I am finally starting to feel in control of my body and all that that entails and not the other way around. I'm eating better and the snacking urge has subsided somewhat, not 100%, but a lot.

Last night I tasted one of my girls french fries from McD's (which I love) and it didn't taste so good, so that's a good thing I think. I'm getting there and finally taking control of the food and workouts and such and able to say no I don't want any right now. Oh and I've cut out sodas as well, I'm down to MAYBE 1 a day and that's it. The coffee - gotta have that in the morning, but 1 big cup is it.

YEAH ME!
