2008 Ugalde Family Christmas Camping Trip

We went on our Annual Family Christmas Camping trip to Bastrop State Park and camped in a cabin for 2 nights. The temperature was COOOOLLLLD! But that did NOT stop the girls from playing outside from dawn till dusk, it was amazing. I stayed inside in the warmth, but the girls had a great time.

There was a Burn Ban in effect so Daddy didn't get to build his outside wood fire but he could make a charcoal fire in the BBQ pit so that helped him a little but not quite the real thing.

Here is a slide show of some of the pictures we took:

Snow in Houston Texas 12 10 08

Well it snowed in Houston again...well I say again because it snowed 4 years ago on Christmas Eve. In 2004 when it snowed it was our 9 year old, Juliana, that wished for snow, this year it was our 3 year old, Bella that has been wishing for snow.

To say they were excited is the understatement of the year, in fact, Bella cried this morning when she saw it melting. LOL!

All I have to say is watch out what our girls wish for, it might come true! Enjoy the slideshow!

Turning 40...

Turning 40 has been a major roller coaster of emotions for me, not sure why, but it’s been crazy. Part of me is very sad and just not taking it well at all, the other part of me doesn’t know what to think about it all.

Basically I’m in a state of wonderment, wondering when it gets not so cloudy and a lot clearer. In reality I know it’s just a number, but I guess part of me is not aging gracefully and is not wanting to make it easy. It’s all very surreal to me.

I’m hoping to have happier thoughts about it once i get more use to being 40 now and not 30 something, but man the 30’s sure did fly by WAY too fast…UGH!

I will post pictures from my 40th birthday celebration as soon as I download them from my Camera.

Our Halloween 2008

Well another Halloween has come and gone, seriously where does the time go these days? UGH!

We had a good time, we took the girls and a friend of Juliana's to my sister's neighborhood and got the loot being handed out over there, we raked it in! LOL! I think I am more competitive about Halloween than my girls are, they get tired and their feet start hurting and I'm still raring and ready to go get more.

It was kind of odd trick or treating over there, that neighborhood got hit pretty hard from Ike, so there were many houses that were pitch black and no one living there except a dumpster in the driveway and construction crews finishing up for the day, nothing inside the house, just empty and being rebuilt. Still a lot of rebuilding and such going on here in various areas, very sad.

Anyhow we had a great time till Bella fell and then she just rode in the stroller the rest of the night then got tired and wanted to "go home now". So we did, we were done by 9ish, but man we got a lot of good candy, YIPPEE!!!

Below are some pictures of the evening, I didn't get any of my nephew though darnit! However you can click on the "Wade's World" link for his blog and se him in his Curious George Costume:

The girls together in the front yard.

Juliana, the Coffin Bride

Bella, Spiderella

My Costume, headband of a witch's hat with braids. LOL!

Daddy's hiding from the camera...THAT must be his costume. LOL!
